Traci’s Kitchen Seasoning Powder: The Secret to Making it Taste Good Minimize

I once watched a video on how to make vegetables taste delicious by Julia Child. After a few minutes, I had all her secrets pinned down to 3 easy steps. Fry it in real butter (breaded if necessary), drench it with heavy cream and salt it generously! Knowing what I do about health prevents me from using any of these methods, so I had to get a little more creative...In time, with Kal’s help, we developed a whole herb and food powder that we could use to season anything savory!

In trying to make vegetables, grains and such taste good, I found that a great many recipes and commercial products used a powdered bullion mix that gave things a "chicken" flavor, and they worked! Everything tasted so yummy...the problem was that most of the commercial varieties were either based in maltodextrin (malto-what?!) and had MSG, a host of unpronounceable chemicals or they were exceedingly expensive. With a few months of experimentation, we were able to devise our own blend that was far tastier than commercial varieties, a good deal less expensive and pristinely healthful! This was good because we discovered that it turned everything it touched to gold. It was fabulous on rice, grains, potatoes, in soup, on salads, pasta or stirred into olive oil and basted over vegetables! All the photos I have of my little ones begging on their father for more green beans, more corn or even  Brussels sprouts, are because they are seasoned with this mix. We now call it Traci's Kitchen Seasoning Powder (formerly known as Vegetable Seasoning Broth Powder, recipe on page 47 of Traci's Transformational Kitchen Recipe Collection).

We had a difficult time keeping this popular mix in the bulk bins at my store. Every time we'd fill the bin, someone would come and clean it out! So for all those folks in Star Valley who wished that I was still around making it to just buy, this news is for you! And for those of you who are overcoming inner Julia Child, we are now making Traci's Kitchen Seasoning Powder en masse!

Traci shared some of this seasoning with me, and it is delicious. I added it to rice, and it really dressed it up. Because it is so flavorful, now I can serve rice as an actual side dish, and not just to put under something else, like a sauce. I'm looking forward to trying it with steamed veggies.
